A big THANK YOU to
all everyone who contributed to our recent Samaritan trip to Matalan.
We recently became aware of a group of particularly poor children
who had few, if any warm clothes for winter. Matalan at Charlton
agreed to open early for us so that we could buy trolley loads
of clothes for these youngsters. In addition, staff had spent the
weekend marking down return items to £1.00 so we benefited
well from this, allowing us to buy far more than had we anticipated
on our budget. Shopping done, we loaded hundreds of socks, pants,
vests, coats, jumpers, trousers in our van and then went off to sort
them and bag them for each child. Many of these children don't have
the luxury of new clothes and the joy on their faces when they received
their unexpected gifts, was a sight to behold. |

44 th annual event in aid of the Coombe Trust. |

| The Lloyds Art Group recently hosted the 44 th annual event in the lovely surroundings of the Old Library at Lloyd's. Since the groups' formation by well known Lloyd's figures of the day, David Duberry and Peter Lovick this annual event has benefited the Coombe Trust. A percentage of the sale price for each piece of work sold during the event is donated to the Trust. In recent years Marion Wilcocks and Geoff Frampton led the organising committee. Having now handed the reigns to some new blood, namely Susannah Hubert, Les Williams and Martin Hill we are delighted that their support has continued.
